So it’s interesting that the design of the building itself is centred around several ‘conversations’,

At street level, the conversation begins between old and new, with the design of the building reflecting elements of the 90-year-old church that sits at its base.

We wanted to embrace the context of the surroundings in the church and adjacent hall, and to present a narrative of a building that had a conversation with the heritage architecture.
This occurs via the lines, angles and metallics of the building’s façade, which mirror the church’s steeples.

But the link goes further, as the building acts as a backdrop to the church itself, silhouetting it and incorporating the old hall as part of its residential entrance.

A forest of greenery with intimate pockets and evocative lighting, the bar will be the Phillip Street hot spot, a place where people can come together, relax, socialise, celebrate – and of course start their own conversations.
The rooftop design plays a major part in that, with extensive views that speak to the riverbank precinct, where it’s located, the city of Parramatta and the Sydney skyline beyond.
